The Skin Project is an ongoing exploration by artist Élodie Alexandre around the experience of living with a skin condition known as psoriasis.
Started in 2020, the project documents physical and mental aspects of living with this disease through visual art representations. The Skin Project took a spiritual dimension when the condition started to be envisaged as an external entity, an almighty deity reigning on the surface of the artist’s body.
The Skin Project includes various 2D and 3D experiments, complete works, photographs, reference materials and pages from art journals, among other work.
